Smart and Skilled is central part of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.

It helps people in NSW to get the skills they need to succeed in their jobs and advance their careers.

A key element of Smart and Skilled is an entitlement to government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III, and for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas.

The courses that are subsidised under Smart and Skilled are set out in NSW Skills List – which identifies courses that help people get the skills they need and which align with the skills needs of businesses in NSW.
